David Shorey

Manager, SEN leader, DSL

As a passionate practitioner in the nursery setting, I am deeply committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). My approach is centred around understanding each child’s unique abilities and requirements, fostering their development through tailored activities and support. I believe in celebrating every child's individuality, ensuring that children with SEN feel valued, understood, and able to thrive alongside their peers. My goal is to create a safe space where every child can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace, with the necessary resources and encouragement to reach their full potential.

Marie Shorey

Manager and play leader

The role of a Play Team Leader in a nursery is pivotal in fostering a safe and engaging environment for children's development. This individual not only oversees play activities but also encourages creativity and social interaction among the children. By thoughtfully planning and facilitating play sessions, the Play Team Leader ensures that each child’s unique needs are met, promoting physical, emotional, and cognitive growth. Furthermore, effective communication with parents and other staff members is essential, as it enhances the overall experience for both children and families within the nursery setting.

Ann Marie

Responsibilities include supporting the lead nursery staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children, and fostering a positive atmosphere where children can explore and grow. This position requires patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for early years education, as well as effective communication skills to engage with both children and their families. By working collaboratively with colleagues, Childcare Assistants contribute significantly to the overall development and happiness of the children in their care.
